Stargazing UK A to Z. F is for...

Finder Scope.

A Finder Scope is a small telescope that is fitted to an astro telescope that has a very wide field of view. As large telescopes have a narrow field of view, it can be difficult to aim at a distant object. The finder scope is used to find your object and aim your main telescope in the right direction. There are different types of finder scopes such as LED or optical.
